Virtual Fly Tying CD-ROM

Virtual Fly Tying CD-ROM

Virtual Fly Tying's Volume I - Early Spring Trout Flies, is the ultimate tying tutorial featuring over 45 minutes of detailed, step-by-step video lessons with right- or left-handed tying demonstrations, biology and stream information, and informative tying techniques. There is no need to install software as the entire program runs directly from the CD.

The program's attractions include easy to access patterns and tying techniques, direct access to individual tying steps, the ability to stop and advance one frame at a time, photography of naturals and imitations, and demonstrates both right- and left-handed tying.

Volume I, Early Spring Trout FliesTying techniques cover realistic cut wings, dubbing, simple nymph legs, splitting dry fly tails, and whip finishing, both by hand and tool. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned tyer there are techniques you can find helpful such as the unique cut wing extended bodies for dry flies, splitting tails, and hand whip finishing.

Early Spring Trout Flies contains biology and stream information on the blue winged olive, hendrickson, and Paraleptophlebia (blue quill). Also covered are recipes and instruction for tying the nymph and dun patterns of each of these flies (six flies in all). The average tying time of each fly is between 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 minutes, and remember you can directly access any tying step you wish with the touch of the computer mouse.

Talent on the CD includes Carson Brown II, who operates a general dentistry practice by day, but has a real passion for tying flies and chasing trout. Jason Brown directs the academic computing efforts of a private university. He shares his brother's passion for the outdoors, especially fly fishing. Dave Rothrock has been a fly tyer for 35 years and demonstrated his talents at the largest fly fishing shows in the east. Dave supplied the insect photography for the CD as well as tied several of the patterns.

Bring excellent tying techniques, productive patterns, and helpful insect information that will make you a better fisherman and tyer right to your tying table with Virtual Fly Tying's new CD - Early Spring Trout Flies - Volume I. Also available now, Attractors & Terrestials - Volume II.
